The National Eligibility Test (NET) is conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on behalf of the University Grants Commission (UGC). The test determines the eligibility of a post-graduate student (or those appearing in the final year examination of such degree) to obtain the award of a Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) or post of an Assistant Professor in any Indian University.
